Why not become a Befriending Volunteer and help older people feel less alone?
Age UK Hertfordshire will be coming to Wormley Community Centre Tuesday 5th April, 10am-12pm to talk to our residents about how they can help support an older person in our community.
You could be matched with an older person to provide friendship and share news, views and interests either as:
• A Visiting Scheme Befriender – you will regularly visit an older person in their own home, perhaps for a cup of tea and a chat
• A Telephone Befriender – you can enjoy a regular friendly chat on the phone with one or more older people
Age UK Hertfordshire envisage a Hertfordshire where older people are valued, able to live well, age well and retain their independence throughout later life and you could play a part in helping to achieve this vision!
*All volunteers are recruited subject to references and an enhanced DBS. Training and support will be provided.
